We were proud to recently complete three Tesco refrigeration installations in just one week, across three very different locations and challenging site conditions.
The projects demonstrate what can be achieved through effective planning, experienced installation teams and close coordination, even when working within busy transport hubs, existing city-centre stores and restricted-access locations.
Delivering in challenging locations
At Tesco Vauxhall Station Express, we completed an 11-case installation within a brand-new store, located in a former Foxtons estate agents directly outside the entrance to Vauxhall Train Station.
With the demands of such a busy transport hub, the installation was carefully scheduled for 1am on a Sunday morning, allowing the team to complete the work efficiently while minimising disruption.
Adapting to customer requirements
We then moved on to Tesco Rochdale, Oldham Road, completing a 9-case installation.
As with the previous Truro project, Tesco requested the produce case to be supplied with Schott hinged doors rather than the standard open-fronted configuration, demonstrating the flexibility of our refrigeration solutions to meet specific store requirements.
Precision in the city centre
Our final installation took place at Tesco Piccadilly in Manchester, where we installed 13 cases within an existing store in the heart of the city centre.
With restricted access and a busy location, the offload and installation were scheduled for midnight. While door height wasn’t an issue on this occasion, the entrance width was tight, requiring careful handling and precision from the installation team to manoeuvre the cases into store without damaging either the equipment or the entrance doors.
Three stores. 33 cases. One week.
A great example of what Pure Cold can deliver when effective project planning, experienced installation teams and close coordination come together.
